That includes An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire and The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard. With Arena and Daggerfall, you can now own pretty much every game in The Elder Scrolls on Steam now. But be warned: they may not have aged all that well.

There’s really no reason not to give them a shot.

All three games are going for free as well, and they’re not going to take much storage space. However, it was released as a standalone game to much popularity.

Enemy Territory, developed by id Software and Splash Damage, was meant to be an expansion to Return to Castle Wolfenstein. They’re joined by Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, a rather famous 2003 first-person shooter, also now on Steam. Regardless, The Elder Scrolls: Arena and its sequel, Daggerfall, are on Steam now, and they’re not alone. The game was good enough to warrant many sequels, and it’s hard not to find a person who hasn’t played The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, either on PC, console, or a toaster.

It’s old enough that marketers thought the best way to attract a new fanbase was to show as much skin as possible on the box art. The 1994 open-world RPG was released back when DOS ruled the PC gaming world. I would say that most fans of The Elder Scrolls likely didn’t begin with Arena. Namely, two of the original games in The Elder Scrolls saga, Arena and Daggerfall, are available now on Steam, along with Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. And as of yesterday, some of its best classic games have made the jump. The company has begun to migrate its Fallout 76 players over to Steam starting today.

I like the game, I just haven't been in the mode to grind it when I could wait for the expansion and then just roll into the new content as I shake off the rust and get back into my HBG groove. As Bethesda promised, its proprietary launcher is shutting down and the games found on it are making their way to Steam. Hell, I 'beat' Rise on switch back when they 'finished' the story and have not picked it up since.

Im sure there are a lot more niche ones, but I think these are mostly the main ones that are keeping twice as many playing World. These would be the 5 most reasonable excuses I can come up with. Incase you missed it in the last reason MODS! Monster Hunter World was the first global released PC Monster Hunter game, which instantly pulled a large crowd excited to both enjoy modding AND play a franchise that has been on consoles its whole life (minus the online game in japan) on their more powerful PC's built to play high graphic games. Those numbers will raise a bit closer to/at release. Those who have not finished Rise might have stopped (or avoided buying it) waiting for the expansion so they can do it all at their pace, instead of having to put the game down "right when it started getting good". Just look at other posts on this subreddit and you will see a LOT of older game and people cheering for people playing them. As such, many people are probably on World because they did everything in Rise and are playing their game. It is a franchise where you enjoy playing them until you hit a wall/need a break from it and then hop over to a version you enjoy more. Monster Hunter is not a game where you play the most recent game because it is the most recent. Many of them don't like the graphics in Rise and enjoy World more.

Monster Hunter World has been around for a LOT longer than Rise, it has a dedicated player group that has been wanting to play monster hunter on the PC for ages.
